Seal Colony/Cape Foulwind walkway
Enjoy a 10 minute walk with amazing views, steeple rocks and onto our viewing platform overlooking our large year-round fur seal colony.
For the walkers, get dropped off at the lighthouse end of beautiful Cape Foulwind, and walk over to the Seal Colony.
Enjoy the breathtaking views.
Kawatiri Trail
The Kawatiri Coastal Trail starts from Charleston and follows the river out to North Beach. A fantastic trail for both cyclists and walkers.
Buller Bridge Motel is located alongside the trail.
Coaltown Museum
Grab a takeaway coffee and head to our local museum to see the various displays showcasing the formation of coal, the communities, transport, maritime history and the men underground.
It is a mix of the past with links to the present.
Old Ghost Road
A 85km long old gold miners road traverses through tussock, river flats, native forest and idyllic valleys.
There are several huts along the track, which begins in either Seddonville or Lyell.
